Golden West Region VII Council Scholarship

The 2010 Diamond Jubilee Horse Show proceeds will proudly benefit the
GOLDEN WEST REGION VII COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP

Region VII Council is proud to offer two $500 scholarships to students who are pursuing higher education beyond high school.

The objective of the Council is not to act as a club itself, but rather to act as a support group for each of the clubs in Region VII;

• To approve and coordinate Morgan Horse Shows and fairs with Morgan classes that take place within Region VII
• To encourage and assist the clubs in promoting the Morgan Horse to the public, especially the Youth, through education as to the history and uses of the Morgan Horse.

If you are pursuing an educational endeavor, we urge you to submit a scholarship application.

The following is a general outline of the program:

1. Two $500 scholarships are available annually, generally one from the North and one from the South.
2. The scholarships will be paid to the recipient within 90 days after the award of the scholarship.
3. The program is open to any man or woman who is seeking higher education with personal dedication to the support of the Morgan Horse.
4. The following will be considered important:
   • Personal Statement
   • Activities/Community
   • Equestrian Related Activities
   • Academic Achievement
   • Personal Statement
   • Letters of Recommendation (2)
5. Selection will be based on academics, community service, leadership, financial needs, and achievement with Morgan Horses.
6. Previous winners are not eligible to participate.
7. Application and two (2) reference letters must be post-marked by December 15th, that year, to be considered for the scholarship, which will be announced at the Region VII Awards Banquet.
8. If no applicant meets the standards, as set by the Committee, the scholarship funds will be held within the Golden West Region VII account.
